Courtney Love isn't hiding her admiration for Kendrick Lamar.

In an interview with The Standard on Tuesday, Nov. 26, the Hole musician said she would love to work with the rapper in the future — for reasons beyond his talent.

"I would love to work with Kendrick Lamar," Love, who's Kurt Cobain's widow, said. "I have a mad crush on him."

Later in the interview, Love, 60, emphasized that she has a "big crush" on the "Not Like Us" rapper, 37, and called him a "genius."

Lamar wrapped up a big year on Nov. 22 when he surprise-released his new album GNX, featuring 12 tracks.

That morning, he teased the LP by dropping a short video for "GNX," which features drone-like sounds and hymnal vocals.

Meanwhile, in September, Lamar was announced as the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show performer. Days later, he dropped a track called "Watch the Party Die" on social media, per Rolling Stone.

In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, Lamar reacted to his halftime gig, saying, "Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

JAY-Z, whose Roc Nation company works with the NFL to select the halftime show performer, added: "Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision."

He continued, "He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come.”

GNX follows 2022's Mr. Morale and the High Steppers. This year, he scored No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 with both "Like That" (with Future and Metro Boomin) and his summer smash "Not Like Us."

The "Money Trees" artist was also recently involved in a high-profile feud with Drake, which spanned multiple months this year as both rappers delivered back-and-forth diss tracks.

Meanwhile, Love recently featured on 070 Shake's album Petrichor.

"She’s a goddess – truly a purist and a queen," she said of working with 070 Shake on "Song to the Siren." "I can't even classify her genre."
