Country Star Chris Young Updates Fans After His Dad's Medical Scare

Chris Young is feeling grateful for his fans amidst a scary family health crisis.

The country artist started off the week by sending a heartfelt message to fans in Colorado who attended his concert on Saturday, June 29—the same day that his stepfather, Michael Harris, suffered a heart attack.

Young, said to have a close relationship with Harris, whom he calls "Dad," took to Instagram on Monday, July 1 to give fans an update on the situation and thank the members of Saturday's crowd for helping him get through the performance.

"Colorado! I don't even have the words..." he wrote in his post, alongside a series of images from the show in Greeley, Colo. "On a day where my dad had a heart attack you lifted me up."

The "I'm Comin' Over" crooner went on to say, "I love country music fans," adding, "I'm happy I played," despite the difficult situation he had going on at home.

He also reassured fans about his dad's condition, stating, "I'm happy my dad is ok."

"Much love to all of you," he concluded the emotional post.

Fans in the comments wasted no time sending their support to both Young and his dad, including tons of Instagram users who were glad to hear Harris is doing okay.

"Wishing your Dad a speedy recovery! ❤️," one person wrote in the comments, while another added, "It was a great show! So glad your dad is okay and continued prayers for his recovery. 💙."

Someone else said they were "so impressed" by Young's performance in Colorado, especially while dealing with hardship in his personal life.

"Thank you for being vulnerable with us it was an amazing show. Prayers to you and your family ❤️," another commenter wrote.

"You and your music change lives sir. Mine was certainly one of them changed several years ago by it, so it was a blessing to see you play and a privilege to return the favor how we could!" added someone else. "Continuing the prayers for your family🙏."
