“Ohhhh I need this,” one commenter wrote in response to the post shared by @costco.so.obsessed. “Gimme anything ube flavored,” another chimed in to echo their sentiment.
For those who haven’t tried it before, ube is super sweet and has a strong vanilla flavor to accompany its sweetness. It can be eaten on its own as a dessert, or in this case, as a filling to complement the fluffy steamed nature of the bao bun. While boa can be prepared in a number of different ways, this version from Costco features a steamed bun filled with a sweet ube (a purple yam that is native to Southeast Asia) custard filling. Simply pop each ube bao bun into the microwave or steamer and get ready to enjoy their delicious flavor in just minutes.
