Yahoo Lifestyle Cobra Kai Boss Talks Scandalous Season 6 Hookup: ‘Sometimes Friction Can Create a Spark’
The drama from a kids karate tournament couldn’t stop a pair of Cobra Kai characters from taking a well-deserved break for some, uhh, extracurricular activity. And no, we aren’t talking about Robby and Zara.
Tensions rose higher than ever in Season 6, Part 2, which led Chozen and Kim Da-Eun to get a bit physical. Only this time, it wasn’t a sparring match. (Well, it was until it wasn’t.) While out one night in Barcelona, the two senseis did come to blows, but that frustration quickly morphed into a make-out session and so much more. Let’s just say that Sex on the Beach isn’t just a boozy summer drink… because it happened. Twice!

“Chozen and Kim Da-Eun are both very similar in their personalities,” co-creator and executive producer Hayden Schlossberg tells TVLine. “[They’re] very stoic, very serious and they both have the charge of making sure that the kids are OK. On the given night, it just made sense that they would be at odds with each other. But even though that they’re on opposing dojos, they have those similarities and sometimes that friction can create a spark.”
Over a cup of coffee the next morning, the enemies-turned-lovers agreed to keep their tryst between them and be professional, but we can’t help but wonder if an inter-dojo love affair could at least be part of the reason why the valley’s karate war eventually comes to an end. (Or doesn’t it?!) But the return of Terry Silver and that horrible Sekai Taikai tragedy seemed to put any hope for romance on pause, at least for now.
“Being in a new environment could create new feelings and romances — and we’ll see where that all goes — but it’s fun to have that, not just with the kids, but with the adults also. It just led to some fun moments with Yuji [Okumoto] and Alicia [Hannah-Kim]. Alicia is always playing this evil villainess and it’s fun to give her something that was out of the wheelhouse that we typically see.”
