Claims against Nicolas Cage have been dismissed from last month's lawsuit that his ex, Christina Fulton, brought against Cage and their son, Weston Coppola Cage.

Fulton's attorney filed the request for Cage's dismissal on March 7, which was granted today with prejudice, meaning Fulton cannot bring the claims against Cage again in this case, according to court documents obtained by Entertainment Weekly. Fulton's civil complaint initially accused Cage of negligence, negligent supervision, and negligent undertaking following an alleged attack that Weston made on his mother last year.

Weston still faces allegations of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

Weston, 34, is the oldest of Cage's three children and the only child shared between him and Fulton, an actress who previously appeared in films like The Doors and Bram Stoker's Dracula. Weston was arrested last July on felony charges of assault with a deadly weapon, just months after a separate incident in which he allegedly punched two individuals multiple times.

It remains unclear if that arrest is related to the incident at the center of the lawsuit Fulton filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Feb. 18. Fulton initially dismissed reports of the altercation, identifying Weston's behavior as a "mental health crisis." But she eventually claimed that Weston "brutally assaulted" her in his condo building's elevator, lobby, and parking lot, causing "catastrophic physical, emotional and economic harm."

The suit references Weston's "long history of mental and psychological disorder" and alleges the younger Cage also has a history of "committing violent assault and battery." Weston has been open about his struggle against substance abuse and has a documented history of violent and reckless behavior, often spurred on by substance use. Fulton pleads in her suit that Weston "receives the help he desperately needs."

Before the claims against Cage were dismissed, Fulton had accused the Face/Off actor of helping to facilitate his son's "reckless" lifestyle "despite knowing [Weston's] substance abuse history."

"Nicolas has been aware of Weston's history and nevertheless failed to take action to prevent Weston from committing acts of violence and harming others," the suit states.

Weston's attorney dismissed the gravity of his mother's accusations to TMZ in February, claiming that the suit "appears to be nothing short of a money grab and call for attention," and noting that, "Ms. Fulton correctly advised the responding LAPD officers that her son was in the midst of a mental health crisis at the time of this incident."

Weston still faces the claims brought against him in Fulton's suit, with the next hearing scheduled for May 22.
