Cillian Murphy Named Versace's New 'Icons' Ambassador — and He Teased the Gig at the 2024 Oscars
Murphy will make his modeling debut for the label in the new Versace Icons campaign, out April 3
If you found yourself swooning over Cillian Murphy’s 2024 Oscars look, expect to see plenty more of it.
The Oppenheimer star, 47, is making his debut as a Versace campaign star on April 3. The actor will front the new Versace Icons global campaign, in which he’ll model “key and timeless pieces” from the menswear collection of the same name, the luxury Italian label announced on Wednesday.
Murphy loves a good Versace fit.
The Italian label actually created the classic tuxedo he wore to the Academy Awards. His stylist, Rose Forde, paired the set with a pleated dress shirt adorned with a bow tie, a bespoke Sauvereign brooch and oxford loafers for an elevated and dapper look, which took center stage when Murphy won Best Actor for his role in Oppenheimer, which also took home the biggest award of the night, Best Picture.
“I am thrilled that Cillian is joining the Versace family,” Donatella Versace, the brand’s creative director, shared in the announcement. “He is a truly exceptional actor and totally deserves his Oscar win. He is magnetic and mesmerizing in front of a camera and I loved seeing him bring Versace to life.”
This awards season, beyond the Oscars, the Peaky Blinders star has proved his style prowess more than ever. At the 2024 SAG Awards on Feb. 24, the Irish stud wore a pinstripe suit with a bow tie by Saint Laurent. But he’s mostly kept his ensembles understated, like the monochromatic suiting he wore to the PGA Awards on Feb. 25.

Last April, Versace appointed Anne Hathaway as the face of its previous Icons campaign launch, which, very much like the new installment, showcased the brand’s timeless sartorial storytelling.
Focused on designs that are "outside the trend cycle" and meant to be "worn again and again throughout your life," of course we got to see the Idea of You actress in clothes (read: sexy LBDs and jeans) we can’t get enough of.
"To me, the Versace Icons collection is timeless elegance with an edge," Hathaway shared in an Instagram, adding that she felt "proud" to bring Donatella's "vision of empowerment" to life.
