"I Was Hit In Five Places": Christy Carlson Romano Revealed That She Was Shot In The Eye

Christy Carlson Romano is opening up about a pretty scary situation she recently experienced.

The actor and former Disney Channel star recently took to IG to reveal that she's currently recovering after being shot in the eye while shooting clay pigeons for her husband Brendan Rooney's birthday.

"It was not fun," she said about the experience, which she says took place after "another party" that was present "unsafely fired in the wrong direction and shot me in the face."

“Brendan immediately sprung into action, assessed me, and rushed me to the hospital. I was hit in 5 places, one was less than an inch from hitting me directly in my right eye.”

Christy also said that even though she's currently able to "see normally," a bullet fragment became "lodged" behind her eye, and it's currently too "risky" to attempt surgery to remove it. "Doctors will continue to monitor me," she wrote.

"With everything that happened, all I can think about is how grateful I am to be alive," she expressed. "I love my daughters, husband, family, and friends so much."

"I saw my life flash before my eyes and I’m telling you, hug the people around you every chance you can. Life can change in an instant. 🙏"

Wow. Thank goodness she's alright! Wishing Christy a speedy recovery from what sounds like one of the absolute worst case scenarios for anyone who goes to a shooting range. Remember your gun safety rules out there, people!
