Christina Hendricks and George Bianchini got married again–but for a very special reason.
The award-winning actress shared a handful of photos from the big weekend on her Instagram page, revealing the celebrity couple reenacted their wedding for her mom who is battling Alzheimer’s and was unable to travel to New Orleans for the ceremony.
"My mother has Alzheimer’s and was not able to come to New Orleans for our wedding, so we brought the wedding to her yesterday in our backyard," she sweetly shared in the caption of her Sunday, May 5, upload. "My mother has always been my best friend and there was no way we weren’t going to share our love and celebrate with the biggest supporter and cheerleader in my life."
"When you are living so in the moment, so in the present, it is so important to have beauty and love and happiness around you. This time we had flower girls and dogs and more wonderful friends join us," the 49-year-old model added.
Hendricks went on to explain that this ceremony included a live performance by the band Garbage, who she said brought a "Scottish wedding twist" to the event, as well as floral arrangements inspired by the ones that decorated her NOLA nuptials.
And yes, before you even ask, the Good Girls star stepped out looking as glamorous as ever in the same dress she wore during her April wedding. "Who wouldn’t want to wear their wedding dress twice!!!"
As Parade previously reported, Hendricks tied the knot last month after a year-long engagement.
The Mad Men actress and Bianchini invited their friends and family to New Orleans to celebrate their special weekend, the former model told People. The city holds importance to Hendricks and Bianchini as individuals and as a couple, and now “feels like our city together,” she told the magazine.
The couple said “I do” at Napoleon House in the French Quarter while surrounded by a few dozen guests, including Hendricks’ fellow Good Girls co-stars Mae Whitman and Retta, and Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner, People reported. Hendricks told the magazine that she and Bianchini had wanted to invite enough people for the wedding to be “a grand ceremony” without feeling too “intimate” or “overwhelming.”
