Christie Brinkley Issues a Desperate Political Statement About the 'Fate of Our Children's Future'

Like many other concerned and disappointed celebrities, Christie Brinkley took to social media in the days following the election to share her fears about the future.

On Saturday Nov. 9, the supermodel shared a video on Instagram of two seagulls flying over the beach at sunset featuring the Billie Eilish song "Birds of a Feather."

"The fate of our children’s future is in our hands," Brinkley wrote in her caption. "He has promised to undo every environmental protection put in place during the Biden administration on day one. That will make it impossible to keep climate chaos from accelerating. Hurricanes, floods, droughts, wildfires, mud slides, air quality alerts, water shortages and disease will all intensify if we don’t choose our planet over profits for a handful of greedy corporations," she continued.

Brinkley went on to explain that "there’s no undoing the climate change we are feeling today, but if we work together we can slow it even stop its devastating progression. And we know trickle down economics is a failed concept, so don’t think that drill Baby drill is going to make you rich…but it could make you sick, (ill baby ill )."

As Brinkley argued, "health is our greatest wealth and we won’t survive without a healthy biodiverse environment." She implored her followers to listen to the warnings of scientists, pointing out that "nature doesn’t care if you’re Red Blue Black Brown Or White.. there are no borders or walls that can protect you from the the various effects of 'unprecedented events', and '100 YearStorms' that are now happening REGULARLY."

The star concluded her post with a plea for her followers to take care of the earth and each other.

"We’re all in this together," she wrote. "So we better learn to get along and work together. For the sake and well being of our children action is mandated. We’re all one family on the same tiny boat known as Mother Earth…and Mom is talking…she’s telling us in so many ways she can’t take much more. She’s given us her all. Let’s show her the respect she deserves. Let’s be there for her over the next four years or she won’t be able to be there for us…she won’t have the resources to take care of all her babies anymore. So my brothers and sisters let’s stick together, birds of a feather and give each other and our Mother some love. 💚♻️💙🌎🐝🐚🌺🌊"

While there was no shortage of commenters criticizing Brinkley's stance, claiming that "windmills kills birds & dolphins" and calling her "clueless," others were quick to show their support.
