Chips Ahoy! is on a mission to ensure everyone can enjoy its tasty cookies.

On Monday, the cookie brand announced it's "going where it's never gone before" with the introduction of its new gluten-free cookies, which are expected to hit shelves this month.

"When we set out to create our first Chips Ahoy! Gluten Free cookie, we didn't want it to be a good gluten-free cookie; we wanted it to be a great cookie that's also gluten-free," Jainette Quinones, the brand manager at Chips Ahoy! Innovation, shared in a statement provided to Food & Wine. "I am proud to say that our innovation team has succeeded — the new Chips Ahoy! Gluten Free cookie is an absolutely delicious cookie that everyone can enjoy."

The new cookie is a permanent addition to the brand's lineup, so fans don't have to worry about it disappearing anytime soon.

According to a spokesperson for the brand, this cookie was a special undertaking, which took years to create to ensure it tasted just as stellar as its non-gluten-free options.

"Making sure to not rush the process, the Chips Ahoy! innovation team developed more than 40 recipes over 3,000 hours before landing on a superior product that would delight cookie fans and the gluten-free community alike," the brand added in its statement. "Because gluten-free doesn't have to mean flavor-free."

This new gluten-free option comes just a few weeks after the company announced it was rolling out a new recipe for its classic cookie. In March, Food & Wine reported on the update, which included baking the cookies with chocolate chips with a higher cacao content and a higher concentrate of Madagascar vanilla extract, which the team says they believe resulted in a more well-rounded flavor with less bitterness.

"For the cookie itself, this new cookie has a richer base cookie flavor, a creamy chocolate taste, and just the right amount of chocolate chips. We even tweaked our batter mixing process, which creates just the right cookie texture," Sabrina Sierant, the senior director at Chips Ahoy!, shared at the time.

This new gluten-free option will come in specially marked packaging, so fans know exactly which bag to pick up. But maybe pick up a second bag while you're at it, because these will surely disappear from your cookie jar fast.
