A Chipotle restaurant in Kansas City changed it's name to "Chipolte" in honor of Travis Kelce's tweets

Travis Kelce’s spelling mistakes over 10 years ago are inspiring a change to a Chipotle restaurant.

Last week, resurfaced tweets from the NFL star, some dating back as far back as 2009, went viral online. It's no secret that years-old posts on the app have gotten public figures in some trouble but the only thing the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s posts on X (formerly known as Twitter) show are his love of Chipotle — and lack of autocorrect.

Kelce's old posts include several mentions of Chipotle, but fans poked fun at his consistent misspelling of the popular chain's name. "Went from class to therapy, now I need some #chipolte and then I'm off to check out my new apt," Kelce wrote on April 27, 2011.

On Monday, Chipotle renamed one of its Kansas City restaurant locations to “Chipolte,” in honor of the tweets. The name change happened before Monday's game between the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, where Kelce's brother Jason plays.

The renamed store location is just minutes from Arrowhead Stadium, where the brothers went head-to-head. This was the first time the pair played each other since the 2023 Super Bowl and the first time the Eagles beat the Chiefs since 2009.

Last week, Travis took a break from the field to see Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in Buenos Aires. Travis and the Grammy Award winner, who have been romantically linked since September, enjoyed Argentinian food before sharing some sweet moments during her concert.

One of the most memorable moments of the show was when the singer referred to Travis in a lyric change to her song “Karma” in her concert. The football player's reaction was caught on film and in the footage posted by a concertgoer, Travis stood next to the singer's dad, Scott Kingsley Swift, in the VIP tent as Swift sang her track, "Karma."

The pop star then switched up the lyrics to the song, singing, “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me,” causing Travis to flash a big grin. The "Blank Space" singer's dad also reacted with excitement and clapped in support.
