Chiefs Fan Opens Up After Taylor Swift Gifts Her Her Scarf During Frigid Playoff Game

On Saturday, Jan. 13, the Kansas City Chiefs took home a win against the Miami Dolphins, but it wasn't without a little pain, as both teams played in freezing temperatures.

Fans were just as cold, and as singer Taylor Swift cheered on her boyfriend Travis Kelce, she seemed to notice one fan feeling particularly chilly, giving her the scarf she was wearing.

The Chiefs fan in question, a woman named Beth Vancil, opened up to TODAY.com about her experience at the game sitting right in front of Swift's box and interacting with the star, calling her "down to earth."

Vancil said that they chatted about a variety of things, posed for photos together, and that Swift even declared her the team's "good luck charm" after she accurately predicted a touchdown play.

"She's just a normal Kansas City Chiefs fan enjoying the playoffs," she went on, remembering Swift energetically high-fiving everyone around them throughout the game.

As for how exactly she ended up with Swift's scarf, Vancil said she got "very red" from the cold temperatures—as it got to be at least -4 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the night—and Swift noticed: "She pulled (her scarf) off and was like, 'You need this, you're our good luck charm." Vancil later posted photos from the fun game day on her social media.

Maybe Swift was right about Vancil's luck, as she told the publication that she had "no idea" her seat would be right near the singer and Donna Kelce when she bought them. "I got the tickets because they were a really good view on the 50-yard line," she said.

Despite the cold, the Chiefs game versus the Dolphins will certainly be one that Vancil will remember.
