Fans of Chick-fil-A are raising concerns about the changing taste of a staple menu item.

Some have noticed in recent weeks that the restaurant's famed waffle fries have gotten "crispier," but they claim it's "not in a good way" in a new query posted to the chain's subreddit.

"Hey, I don't know if any of you guys have noticed but over the past 2 weeks I've been to two different Chick-fil-As and I noticed that the fries are now crispier but like not in a good way," one consumer wrote on the website, noting that they seem like they're battered now and "don't have the same taste" as they used to.

One person claiming to work for the fast food company confirmed that the fries had recently been updated in a comment, admitting that "there might still be a few old bags that need to be used first, but they should all be the new fries eventually."

A spokesperson for Chick-fil-A confirmed to Parade that while a "slight adjustment" was made to the recipe for the fan-favorite side dish, intended to increase the length of time the fries remain crispy, it shouldn't cause a notable change in taste.

“We know Chick-fil-A fans love our Waffle Potato Fries," they said. "We recently made a slight adjustment to our Waffle Potato Fries recipe, which offers the same great taste while also making our Waffle Potato Fries stay crispier, longer.”

However, the spokesperson did not elaborate on what the "slight adjustment" was. On the company's website, it's noted that the new "coating" on the fries contains pea starch, but fans are directed to check with their local restaurants for a complete list of ingredients.
