Chick-fil-A Menu ‘Hack’ Adds ‘Another Level of Greatness’ to Fan-Favorite Holiday Treat

Now that Chick-fil-A's Peppermint Chip Milkshake has officially returned for the holiday season, a popular menu "hack" is also making a comeback.

The fan-favorite shake flavor, which features bits of peppermint bark chips, first became available for the 2024 season on Monday, Nov. 18, as Parade previously reported. But this off-menu way of ordering the seasonal treat promises to make it even better.

Unlike previous Chick-fil-A hacks, this way of enjoying the treat doesn't require the brand to edit its menu, as it utilizes the chain's everyday offerings to customize the item.

So, what's the secret to making the seasonal shake even better? Adding Oreos, of course!

The "hack" isn't new, as it seems to see a resurgence in online popularity every so often, with several social media posts from up to five years ago suggesting that fans order this shake flavor with the Oreo Cookie Crumbles as an add-on mix in for an upcharge of about 40 cents (may vary by location). It can be ordered this way in-store or via the app and online; just click the "Extras" tab and select "Cookie Crumbles" before adding the shake to your order.

As food blogger Snackolator put it, the simple addition has the potential to "take it up to another level of greatness!"

Also returning with Chick-fil-A's beloved shake flavor is its Peppermint Iced Coffee and its Peppermint Chip Frosted Coffee, both of which could also be taken to the next level by implementing the Oreo "hack."
