'Chicago Med' Alum Torrey DeVitto Fans Praise Her 'Beautiful Message' During Campaign With Controversial Organization

It's not often that advertisements produced by PETA receive unanimous praise, but Chicago Med alum Torrey DeVitto fans seemed largely in agreement with the message she sent in a new campaign advocating against the purchase and use of cashmere.

DeVitto and the controversial animal rights organization posted the graphic made for its new campaign on Instagram yesterday, Jan. 27, showing the new mom, seemingly while she was still pregnant, sitting in a grassy knoll and smiling as she pet a brown goat named Chevy that looked back at the camera at just the right time.

"Let goats keep their coats," the photo pleaded. "Never wear cashmere. Please, choose vegan."

Fans were appreciative of the "beautiful message" sent in the "beautiful ad," thanking the actress for "setting a compassionate example for all❤️."

"Thank you for extending your compassion and concern to all living, loving beings," one said sweetly. "Your daughter is so blessed to have an incredible mother and role model like you! 💛."

"Yes 🙌 Say no to animal coats ❤️," another celebrated, while someone else declared, "I love this and couldn't agree more!"

"Thank you for speaking for the animals! So sad that people hurt them when there's so many humane options," another wrote.

One, however, pointed out there are ethical ways to procure cashmere, which comes from the winter undercoat of cashmere goats by either shearing or brushing it from the animals.

"Maybe instead of blaming an entire industry, you should research the companies you’re buying cashmere and other animal clothing from," they suggested. "Good farmers and producers would never hurt their animals. Please stop bad mouthing all farmers."

PETA often sparks ire with its tactics, like when the organization slammed Gordon Ramsay for jokingly selecting a lamb from the farm for dinner, or when its partnership with Alicia Silverstone and her son encouraged students to skip class.
