Cheryl Hines and RFK Jr. Seen Together for the First Time Since His Alleged 'Personal Relationship' with Reporter

The pair was spotted in Malibu, Calif., on Saturday, Oct. 5

Cheryl Hines and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. have been spotted together for the first time since the former presidential candidate's alleged "personal relationship" with New York magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi.

Hines, 59, and Kennedy, 70, were seen in Malibu, Calif., on Saturday, Oct. 5, in photographs published by Page Six.

The actress sat in the passenger seat of a car beside Kennedy, who was in the driver’s seat. The pair stopped for a Starbucks run in the area, according to the outlet.

Hines was also photographed stepping out wearing a dark blue T-shirt, jeans and black sunglasses — without a wedding ring.

The outing between the pair took place following Hines’ return to the U.S. after spending time in Europe following the news of Kennedy’s alleged affair with Nuzzi, 31.

New York magazine revealed the news in a statement on Sept. 19, as the publication announced that its Washington correspondent Nuzzi had been put on leave after she “acknowledged to the magazine’s editors” that she “engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign.”

Nuzzi later said in a statement shared with PEOPLE that “the nature of some communication” between herself and “a former reporting subject turned personal,” though she added that she “did not directly report on the subject nor use them as a source” during that time.

A source previously told PEOPLE that Hines and Kennedy "have barely spoken” after the news of his alleged affair was revealed. “[Hines] is embarrassed because he got caught," the insider said.

While in Europe, Hines kept busy by attending several shows during Paris and Milan Fashion Week with her daughter Catherine Young. The actress also supported Kennedy’s daughter Kyra at the Gucci fashion show, in which she walked.

Hines celebrated her birthday on Sept. 21. In a post shared on her Instagram Stories of her birthday celebrations with Catherine, 20, and Kyra, 29, she wrote, "Me & my girls."

Hines has not publicly addressed her husband's alleged extramarital relationship.
