Here’s The ‘Cheeseball’-Themed ‘The Apprentice’ Commercial You Won’t See During Kamala Harris’ Fox News Sit-Down

Former President Donald Trump’s least favorite movie can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to advertising during a seminal interview on his favorite network. Fox News turned away an ad for The Apprentice that Briarcliff Entertainment chief Tom Ortenberg tried to place during Wednesday night’s interview with Kamala Harris. It’s the first formal sit-down at the network by the standing Vice President and Democratic candidate for president, and Bret Baier will conduct it as part of his nightly show Special Report.

Now, sources at Fox said that Ortenberg’s charge is misleading at best, and a pure PR stunt at worst, because the network offered space during the moments leading up to Baier’s telecast on The Five, which is the network’s top-rated show. They never heard back, but felt it was bad form to air a commercial with the depiction of a presidential candidate and a political context during Harris’ segment, even if the spot pits a young Trump against Roy Cohn in the assessment over the value of ingesting cheeseballs.

This puts Fox News in like with CBS and ABC, which turned down commercials Ortenberg tried to place during the Trump-Harris debate, and the one between vice presidential candidates J.D. Vance and Tim Walz.

“Fox News’ refusal to run our TV ad for The Apprentice is just another obstacle we will overcome in our quest to bring this brilliantly reviewed film to audiences nationwide,” Ortenberg told Deadline. “We will not be deterred.”
