Charlie Sheen Starts a Podcast in Trailer for Star-Studded Showbiz Comedy From Entourage Creator

Charlie Sheen is ready to talk… and a lot of people are gonna want to hear what he has to say.

Sheen stars as himself in the trailer for the new comedy series Ramble On, written and directed by Entourage creator Doug Ellin. The series — which is currently being shopped to networks and streamers — serves as an Entourage reunion of sorts, with Kevin Connolly and Kevin Dillon playing podcast producers desperate for a new hit. Their financiers, including Mark Cuban, are ready to pull the plug, so they throw up a Hail Mary and approach Sheen to do a podcast… and they learn he’s as desperate as they are.

“Here’s the truth: I’ve got no money, I’ve got no offers, no love, nada,” Sheen confesses during a tour of his palatial L.A. home — before pointedly asking, “What are you paying?” He also consults with his father Martin Sheen, playing himself, with Charlie shrugging off the newfound scrutiny: “They’ve already taken everything from me. What else is there?” (“They’ll find something,” Martin laughs.)

The star-studded cast also includes Tramell Tillman (Severance), John C. McGinley (Scrubs), Jamie-Lynn Sigler (The Sopranos), Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows), Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty) and Kimiko Glenn (Orange Is the New Black), just to name a few.

“This idea has been spinning in my head for years, and seeing it come to life is incredible,” Ellin said in a statement. “I feel beyond grateful that so many of my Entourage crew and cast members, along with some of the most talented, comedic forces in the industry, have joined us on this exciting new journey. We cannot wait to share this with the world.” The series was first announced in March 2022.

If the pilot gets picked up, it would mark Sheen’s first regular TV role since his starring turn on FX’s Anger Management, which ran from 2012 to 2014. He also starred alongside Jon Cryer on the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men, earning three Emmy nominations before an infamous public meltdown led to his contract being terminated in 2011.
