MKR's Colin: 'I've had to taste some shocking dishes'

He's the no-nonsense Irish chef who's about to take over My Kitchen Rules.

And Colin Fassnidge didn't hold back about his upcoming round of contestants when chatting with Yahoo7 Entertainment.

The respected restaurant owner, who will take over the judging reigns from Pete and Manu during the third round of instant restaurants, revealed he's had to taste "shocking dishes" during his time on the show.

"There is a restaurant this week in our group that was just so bad," he said, adding: "There’s two dishes from two different reatraunts which are shockers".

The chef, who's known on the show for his fiery attitude, revealed there have been times that a contestants food was "so bad" he simply couldn't eat it.

"If it’s bad I’m not eating it. My life’s not that long," he said.

Fassnidge also admitted that delivering bad news to some contestants can wear him down.



"There's two contestants who were physically crying, they were broken, they knew how bad it was - I don’t even know how it got that bad.

"Obviously you go in all guns blazing but if someone’s that upset… it’s not nice," he said.

Fassnidge also touched upon his surprise new judging partner Rachel Khoo, cheekily adding she's a welcome addition.

"She's stunning looking," he joked. "It's nice for me".
