Cedric the Entertainer and Paramount Pictures’ Michael Ireland and Wife Jay to Be Honored at Lupus LA’s Cuisine for a Cause

Lupus LA will honor Cedric the Entertainer as well as Paramount Pictures’ Michael Ireland and his wife Jay at the organization’s Cuisine for a Cause in April in downtown Los Angeles.

Rheumatologist and Lupus LA Medical Advisory Board member Dr. Wesley Mizutani will also be honored at the event.

Cedric will be honored with the Loop Award, which recognizes prominent members of the entertainment community for their commitment to philanthropy and advocacy. The Irelands will receive the Ellis Community Leadership Award for their unwavering support of Lupus LA’s mission since Jay’s lupus diagnosis in 2016, using their platforms to raise awareness and advocate for patients and their families.

The Medical Visionary Award will be presented to Mizutani for his dedication to advancing lupus care, supporting patient advocacy, and serving in leadership roles for major arthritis and autoimmune foundations.

Cuisine for a Cause, presented with the support of Paramount Pictures, is set for April 27 at Vibiana. The early evening event will feature a one-of-a-kind dining experience prepared by some of Los Angeles’ most celebrated chefs, including Neal Fraser, Kevin Meehan, Tal Ronnen, Antonia Lofaso, Bricia Lopez, Caroline Styne and Suzanne Goin.

All proceeds from Cuisine for a Cause will directly support Lupus LA’s programs dedicated to patient advocacy, community services, and funding groundbreaking research efforts. Since its founding, Lupus LA has raised over $13 million, reaching over 4.3 million people worldwide through digital education and patient programming. With over 60,000 individuals affected by lupus in Los Angeles County alone, the organization is committed to bridging the gap in awareness, access and research funding for those impacted by this life-altering disease.
