Yahoo Lifestyle Cat stuck up tree rescued after 24 hours
A cat owner has described being "heartbroken" while her pet was stuck up a tree for 24 hours.
Jodie Lumber and Elliott Sawyer's eight-month-old ginger moggy named Otto was stranded after he climbed a 40ft (12m) holm oak tree in Weymouth, Dorset on Sunday
Ms Lumber said neither the RSPCA nor the fire service were able to attend.
On Monday a team from Knighton Countryside Management, stepped in and used a cherry picker to save the frightened feline.
Otto was described as being unharmed but slightly shaken by the experience.
Ms Lumber said the kindness of the rescuers "meant the world to us".
She said: "Otto is like family and ... is now reunited with Daisy our 15-year-old cat, who is much better behaved."
Mr Sawyer echoed her gratitude and described Otto as "a real character".
"He has already scaled the Christmas tree in the lounge and brought it to the ground. He took on a bit more than he could handle climbing this tree,
"I was heartbroken watching him stuck up there."
Tree surgeons, George Emery and Andy Carr, led the rescue at the property on Lorton Lane.
Mr Emery said: "It's not every day you get called to save a cat, but we're always happy to help the community."
