Candy floss bouquets are this year's newest wedding trend

Instagrammable place cards and foliage-laden aisles were the biggest wedding trends of 2018 but nobody could quite anticipate that couples would turn their backs on flowers this year.

Yes, brides are no longer lusting over endless floral Pinterest boards because apparently candy floss bouquets are the next big thing.

Owner of Unicorn Crafts, Faheema Chaudhury, kick-started the social media phenomenon after deciding to use the pink stuff to make a one-of-a-kind bouquet for her wedding day.

“I loooooove cotton candy and knew I had to make a cotton candy bouquet for my wedding,” she told Delish.

Now, it seems brides across the globe are on a sugar high with an increase in requests for the fluffy treat ahead of their nuptials.

We have to admit, the unusual bouquet looks surprisingly gram-worthy courtesy of its millennial-approved hue.

But it’s not the only food taking centre stage when it comes to the big day, as soon-to-be newlyweds have also been spotted carrying everything from pizza to doughnuts down the aisle.

Now, that sounds like a bouquet worth catching…
