After her callout—as results that Republican candidate Donald Trump defeated Democratic nominee Kamala Harris were determined—the Fuller House actress followed up her initial sentiment with an additional message to fans.
Attempting to offer an encouraging word, the 48-year-old took to Instagram to share a Bible verse, which was positioned over a video of an American flag waving.
"Praise be to the name of God forever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning," the scripture read, which comes from Daniel 2: 20-21.
The Nov. 5 upload—set to the tune of the hymn "'tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus" performed by Christian band PAGE CXVI—included the caption, "…'’tis so sweet to trust in Jesus and to take Him at His Word'…praying for the Lord’s mercy over the United States of America 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙— let the Lord’s will be done," along with an additional scripture: "PSALM 47:8 'God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.'”
Fans in the comment section were divided in their opinions, standing on either side of the political spectrum. One Instagram user wrote, "💙🩵🇺🇲🩵💙🇺🇲 what would Jesus do? He certainly wouldn't speak to his children the way trump speaks to ...well..everyone. Praying for peace regardless of the outcome.."
Another commented, "Go TRUMP!! ❤️❤️❤️God answers prayers!!" while someone else shared, "I prayed myself to sleep last night. America will be great again 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙."
Meanwhile, others tried to keep the conversation positive.
"I love how Beth Moore described God on his throne in the book of Daniel. He is in control and he is not panicked by anything happening here on earth. ❤️," one wrote, while another pointed out, "Mmmm, I think her point is that God reigns over all. He is the almighty. No matter who is sitting as the President of the United States."
"I think we have to remember that God is in control and that we are not in control," a third agreed.
On Wednesday, Nov. 6, Vice President Harris formally conceded the political race to the former president, delivering her concession speech on the campus of her alma mater, Howard University, shortly after.
