Camila Cabello Says She’s Taking 'Internet Breaks' and 'Living' at the Moment: 'A Writer Must Have Stories'
The announcement comes a day after Cabello performed a medley of her songs at the Elie Saab show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Camila Cabello is hopping off social media for a bit.
In the early morning of Thursday, Nov. 14, Cabello shared a selfie to her Instagram Stories and announced she's stepping away from the internet at the moment.
"a writer must have stories [...] living them right now," wrote the 27-year-old "Bam Bam" singer. "taking some cute little internet breaks."
The announcement comes a day after Cabello performed a medley of her songs "Never Be the Same," "Shameless," "Señorita," "Havana" and "I Luv It" at the Elie Saab show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which also featured performances from Jennifer Lopez and Céline Dion.
The Fifth Harmony alum has spoken about needing time to herself in the past. In August, she took to Instagram and informed fans she'd been "going thru it lately."
"feels like sometimes there is heartache everywhere i look, within me and around me," wrote Cabello at the time. "and i try my best to show up for my friends, my fans and the people that show up for me but it’s hard to pour from what feels like an empty cup."

"if I am a part of your life and i disappear sometimes, that’s probably why," she added. "so brb while i get some bandages and warm honey and stitches for this head and heart."
Cabello then wrote, "you know i’ll be back from my trips to hell hotter funnier and smarter," before throwing in a winky emoji and providing fans with some "field notes."
"27 is messy, gilded," she concluded.

In June, Cabello released her latest album, C,XOXO, featuring the singles "I Luv It," "He Knows" with Lil Nas X and "Hot Uptown" with Drake. She released an extended "Magic City Edition" of the album in September with four new songs, including the single "Godspeed."
Since releasing this album, she returned to the stage with her first string of headline performances since 2019. "i have not toured since my first album. even though i feel like the stage is my second home, i always felt like more of a studio hermit and like i needed to be off the road to become me," she wrote on Instagram in September around the release of her Apple Music Live special.
"when we made C, XOXO, i knew i had to tour this body of work. these songs, these lyrics, these drums, this ENERGY - was MADE to be experienced live," continued Cabello. "it’s a world of women with bark and bite, of a Miami Spring Breakers fantasy, of BMX bikers, of bravado, of friendship 💘, of an eternal Miami, Dade County summer."
