Busy Philipps Says Daughter Cricket FaceTimed Her After Her Sex-Ed Class: 'Had to Get all the Goss' (Exclusive)
The actress shares her two kids Cricket and Birdie with ex-husband Marc Silverstein
Busy Philipps had to get all the tea after her daughter attended one of her first sex-ed classes.
On Thursday, the Mean Girls actress, 44, attended the season 3 premiere of Girls5eva in New York City and chatted with PEOPLE about her bond with her 10-year-old daughter Cricket. Philipps shares her kids Cricket and Birdie, 15, with ex Marc Silverstein.
Asked if either of her kids helped her to get ready for her big night, Philipps laughs, "No, are you kidding?"
"Although I FaceTimed both girls. Birdie's in boarding school in Sweden and we FaceTimed while I was doing hair and makeup. She's really sweet and I miss her so much, I'm gonna cry."
"And Cricket FaceTimed me to tell me about their second sex-ed class today. So I had to get all the 'goss' on how it was and what happened."

In February, Philipps spoke with Entertainment Tonight at the Christian Siriano Fall/Winter 2024 Fashion Show at The Plaza Hotel in New York City, opening up about her co-parenting relationship with Silverstein.
While she noted that things seemed to be going well between the two, Philipps admitted that there have been some tough times.
"I think that we just both understood, fundamentally, that we made a promise to each other and to our kids," she shared. While "one part of the promise is different," she said, when it comes to "raising our kids together," nothing has changed.
"Being able to communicate is important and necessary," the mom of two added. "And we weren't going to let any hurt feelings on our side affect how we can show up for what is essentially still a family."
Earlier this year, Philipps appeared on an episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, chatting with co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager about how she establishes boundaries with her kids. Kotb then asked the actress how she keeps her attention on her kids as she deals with being a celebrity.
"I think it’s really complicated. And we just try to talk about it," the actress said.
"For Birdie, who really grew up on the set of CougarTown — cause she was 6 months old when I did the pilot and she was 8 when we stopped filming the show — she gets it more than Cricket, who really hasn’t been around me as an actor. And sitting in the theater for Mean Girls for the premiere was the first time Cricket, I realized, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s never seen me in anything?’"
"What did she think? How did she react?" Kotb asked.
"She just was like — she’s 10 now, my little one...I saw her face and she goes, ‘This is weird.'"
