There have never been as many mid-life style muses as there are right now; from the flourishing displays of couture at the Golden Globes to the sophisticated street style of Katie Holmes and Pamela Anderson, we're never left wanting when it comes to sleek fashion inspiration. This week, it was Brooke Shields that carried the flame, looking chic as she stepped out in New York.
Yesterday, the actress was spotted in not one but three covetable outfits while out in Manhattan promoting the release of her new book, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed To Get Old, which explores her experiences and thoughts as a woman ageing in modern society.
Shields was first seen leaving a filming of Good Morning America at the ABC Television Studios wearing a tailored pewter-grey trouser suit, complete with a matching tie and white poplin shirt. She opted for a pair of relaxed cigarette-style trousers rather than the wide-leg style which have been increasingly popular of late, and accessorised the look with a pair of silver stiletto pointed heels and a black quilted Chanel zip-around flap bag.
The actress matched her corporate-inspired outfit with a pair of silver dangling earrings and pink-tinged aviator style glasses, wearing her hair down with minimal make-up save for a slick of mascara and warm berry-toned lipstick.
For her second look of the day, Shields opted for a more low-key ensemble, appropriate for the chilly January weather. She wore a pillowy puffer jacket over a Oxford blue high-neck knitted jumper and wide-leg black jeans with a pair of black and white Adidas Sambas. In her hand, she held the same black quilted Chanel bag from her first outfit.
For her final look of the day, Shields reverted back to a more constructed style, wearing an oversized navy tailored jacket and mid-length skirt with a tasteful side slit. Elevating her refined outfit with a touch of glamour, Shields stepped out in a pair of black suede Jimmy Choo Saeda heels with crystal ankle straps.

Her vintage Chanel flap bag continued to show its versatility by furnishing the ensemble, which she also accessorised with dangling two-tier silver earrings.
