Britney Spears has stripped down to a barely-there bikini for a sultry Instagram photo that has raised eyebrows and questions amongst the popstar’s fans.

The Toxic singer is prolific on Instagram, where she regularly posts updates on her life with boyfriend Sam Asghari and outfit of the day posts, but her latest snap has turned up the heat a notch or two.

The mum-of-two can be seen pushing her bikini bottoms down to expose two tattoos on her lower abdomen.

The snakeskin-patterned swimsuit is set off by a diamond choker and heavy black eye makeup, a bizarre combination that fans have commented upon.

Some are even expressing fears for the singer, as the bizarre photo was shared with a seemingly unrelated caption.

While many either praised or debated her fashion choices, others had more pressing questions to ask.

Britney has weathered a difficult few years after her father fell ill, leading to the cancellation of an announced Las Vegas residency, and ongoing legal battles within her family.
