Britney Spears may have to hold off on donning her dancing shoes anytime soon.

The "Toxic" songstress has suffered an injury to her ankle that's likely to require some time off her feet.

In a new video uploaded to Instagram late in the day on Thursday, May 2, she panned the camera across the floor to show her swollen right foot as she narrated, "Okay guys, so I know I really twisted my ankle last night, like an idiot."

"It's so bad," she emphasized, recounting an attempt to leap across the living room while staying in a suite at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. "I fell, embarrassed myself, and that's it," she said, going on to confirm news reports that someone called 911 on her behalf—without her request.

When paramedics arrived at her door, she said it "caused a huge scene" when all she felt she needed was an ice pack.

"It is actually pretty bad," she repeated. "But s--t happens."

Contradicting news reports suggest that 911 was called in the middle of what sources described as a "major fight" between Spears and her boyfriend at the hotel on Wednesday night, May 1.

In another Instagram post, Spears said that she felt “completely harassed” by their appearance, though the paramedics never entered her room and she reportedly left the premises with her security team.

She also said the media reports about the situation were "fake," though it's unclear if she's referring to the alleged fight or perhaps TMZ's report that she may have been experiencing a mental health crisis.

Instead, Spears blamed her mother for her injury, writing in the caption of her video that, though they hadn't spoken in six months, she happened to call her in between the incident and news of it breaking. "I was set up," she suggested.

Spears has, of course, been at odds with most of her family for years, even after her conservatorship came to an end.
