In November 2021, Britney Spears's controversial conservatorship was officially terminated after 13 years of every aspect of both her professional and personal life being largely controlled by her father, Jamie Spears, and lawyers.
In the memoir, Britney recalled any effort that she made to publicly speak about her situation being silenced, and made specific reference to a chat show appearance that she made in 2016.
And now, over a year later, this report has been proven true, with ITV recently airing the previously unseen clip for the first ever time.
“It was, like, a thing since the conservatorship… I’m in a conservatorship, it’s the third year of me being under that,” Britney then explains.
“And I felt like a lot of the things were planned for me to do, and, you know, being told what to do, and I was like: ‘For this one, I want to make it my baby, and I want to do it myself,’” she goes on. “And I was very strategic about the way I did it, and that’s why it means so much to me.”
“That’s good to know,” Jonathan tells her. “Because, I hope you know this, but you have millions of fans around the world. I know you know that, but I hope you know that they feel love to you, they feel protective of you, they want to see you thrive. Do you draw strength from that? Does that thought help you, or is it sometimes too much?”

The extraordinary rumor that Kate Middleton never had cancer, which went viral over the weekend after an old report resurfaced saying the princess had been afflicted by “pre-cancerous cells”, can arguably be traced back to a deliberately opaque communications policy by her and her office.
