Bridgit Mendler's “Good Luck Charlie” Costar Jason Dolley Says Her Career After Disney 'Fit Very Well with Who I Knew Her to Be'
"She can do whatever she sets her mind to," Dolley said of his former TV sister
Jason Dolley is pleasantly surprised by his Good Luck Charlie costar Bridgit Mendler’s career arc following their Disney Days.
On Monday, Oct. 28, E! News spoke to Dolley, 33, at the world premiere of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place at El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles. While on the red carpet, the Disney alumnus was asked about life 10 years after Good Luck Charlie’s final episode, and whether or not he still keeps in touch with his former castmates.

After sharing that he played pickleball with Bradley Steven Perry (Gabe Duncan) “literally last week” and plays poker at Eric Allan Kramer’s (Bob Duncan) home “all the time,” Dolley admitted he hasn’t seen much of Mendler, 31, because she doesn’t live nearby.
"All of the news that broke about her when she was going to MIT, then she was building satellites, it surprised me," Dolley told E! News of his TV sister, who became a space startup CEO earlier this year.
“But it also fit very well with who I knew her to be,” the Hatching Pete actor continued. "She obviously has a great career spirit as an actor and a singer and songwriter, but she's always had this really inventive and creative mind."
Dolley added that it “makes a lot of sense” for Mendler to go in that direction because her father had the same career path.

“But honestly, she can do whatever she sets her mind to, and I say power to you, get those satellites off girl, and let's build a better tomorrow,” he said.
Since starring as lead Charlie Duncan in Good Luck Charlie, plus releasing her debut studio album Hello My Name Is… with Hollywood Records in 2012 as well as two EPs, Mendler has shifted her focus from entertainment.
In February, she used social media to announce her position as the CEO of Northwood Space, a startup on a mission to create a "data highway between earth and space."
“Expect the unexpected!” her tweet began.
“We are designing shared ground infrastructure from first principles to expand access to space. We have a lot of work ahead of us but that’s the fun part,” Mendler wrote, also sharing a link for interested individuals to apply for job positions.

Later that day, the Lemonade Mouth alumna shared another exciting message online.
“The other news I wanted to share is I’m a mama to a sweet 4yo boy. Started fostering in 2021 adopted near Christmas of 2022. I’m so lucky — being a parent is the biggest gift and most defining experience there is,” she tweeted.
Mendler shares her son with husband Griffin Cleverly, whom she married in 2019.
