Maid of honour ditches gown for T-Rex suit

A maid of honour has redefined wedding attire with a bold new look that surprisingly comes with the bride’s tick of approval.

Texas mum Christina Meador went viral last month with a hilarious snap of her sister’s wedding featuring the blushing bride, and a towering dinosaur.

The woman beneath the eye catching T-Rex look, Christina herself, shared the snap to Facebook alongside a hilarious caption that saw the post go viral.

“When you're maid of honour and told you can wear anything you choose...I regret nothing,” she wrote.

The snap shows the bride, groom and officiant in the midst of the vows while an emotional Christina looks on through the eyeholes in her hilarious outfit.

The T-Rex of honour didn’t completely throw tradition to the wind, she held a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers alongside the other, more classically dressed, bridesmaids, and even walked down the aisle ahead of her sister.

The maid of honour told The Daily Mail she hit upon the idea after her sister asked her to stand by her side on her big day, but assured her she could pick out any outfit she liked.

“I was trying to think of something that I would be willing to wear more than once and thought to myself, ‘Well, she did say anything, and if I'm spending more than $50, I want it to be a dinosaur costume, because they're fantastic and I've always wanted one’,” she said.

“I sent her a text so that she could have a laugh - surprisingly she was ok with it!”

The original shot has been liked more than 5,000 times and attracted over 17,000 comments.

The overall reaction has been wholeheartedly positive, and even seems to have started a trend.

A slew of would-be bridesmaids have taken to the comments to notify their friend’s that they too will embrace the T-Rex dress for their nuptials.

Others just wanted to express their love of the ingenious idea.

“That's awesome! I totally love it!” one woman wrote.
