Bridesmaid axed from wedding after bride labelled her illness 'silly'

The stress of organising a wedding is enough to make any bride act out a little, but in this case, one bride went so far as to fire her friend from the role of bridesmaid for speaking too much about her chronic disease.

The axed bridesmaid has since taken to Facebook, speaking out in fury about the whole situation which ended their close friendship.

The two former colleagues were set to get married around the same time but just as the classic tale of Bride Wars, their shared excitement didn’t last long during the wedding planning phase.

“I was not allowed to talk about my wedding planning. I thought it would be super cute to both plan together. But she would literally take over everything,” she wrote, according to the Daily Mail UK.

However, when the woman who was also meant her friend’s bridesmaid was diagnosed with Ulcerative colitis, a chronic and debilitating bowel disease things really took a turn for the worse.

She explained that since having the disease she lost most of her energy and struggled to find time to plan her own wedding let alone her friend’s but apparently that wasn’t acceptable.

“She didn’t give a s**t about my diagnosis, and basically said I could concentrate on my wedding after hers. That’s my first strike,” She fumed.

Her second ‘strike’ came at the hen’s party after the woman was told she was being too ‘picky’ about the menu after she asked the waiter to exclude certain ingredients that would trigger her IBD (Irritable bowel disease).

“After the meal, they all went on to a club, I’m not staying out and drinking (again extreme exhaustion due to chronic disease, which I am still getting to grips with but thought she would appreciate me at least trying),” she continued.

But that wasn’t the case, instead, it was ‘Third strike!’

She then revealed that after having to pull out of the pre-wedding festivities for health reasons, she was promptly kicked off the bridal party via text.

“If you can’t be bothered to put silly little things like your illness and your wedding aside to help me on my most important day, I don’t want you there,” it wrote.

Fellow Facebook users were shocked by her ‘Bridezilla’ experience and flooded her with messages of support.

“Sounds like you dodged an atomic f*n bomb,” one user said.

While another suggested she, “Burn the dress and send her a picture as your only reply”.

However, it seems the bridesmaid has an even better idea up her sleeve, announcing she is planning to shorten the would-be bridesmaid dress and wear it to a party they’re both attending just two weeks before the wedding.
