Bravo Superfan Jessica Chastain Praises “RHOBH” Star Garcelle Beauvais for Injecting 'So Much Fun' into the Show
The 'George and Tammy' actress ran into the Bravo personality at Monday's 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards
During a night packed with TV’s biggest stars, Jessica Chastain couldn’t help but fangirl at Monday’s 75th annual Primetime Emmy Awards over one of her favorites: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Garcelle Beauvais.
“She doesn’t understand how much I love her,” Chastain, 46, told Beauvais, 57, in a video the Bravo star shared on her Instagram Story Monday.
Beauvais became a full-time cast member on RHOBH in 2020 and currently stars on the series alongside Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley, Crystal Kung Minkoff, Kyle Richards, Sutton Stracke and Annemarie Wiley.
“You have injected so much fun into that show,” Chastain, who received an Emmy nomination for outstanding actress in a limited series or a movie for her role in George and Tammy, continued to tell Beauvais at the 2023 Emmys. “Thank God for you! Can I give you a hug?”
Chastain and Beauvais then grabbed hands and air kissed.
“I’m obsessed with and it’s mutual,” the former co-host of The Talk wrote on her Instagram Story, tagging Chastain.
The Oscar-winning actress reposted the Story, writing, “Loved meeting you.”
Chastain has a connection to another Beverly Hills Housewife, as she revealed on Watch What Happens Live that she rented out Richards’ house before Stracke, 52, stayed there.
“I didn't realize it,” Chastain told host Andy Cohen in January 2023. “My husband had picked it out. I said, 'How do I know this place?' And at one point, we had an issue with the movie theater room. [Richards' husband Mauricio Umansky] showed up.”
Chastain said the "black and white checkered tiles at the entrance" gave her a sense of déjà vu.
During the same WWHL appearance, Chastain responded to a fan question about which Housewife she’d want to reinstate by saying she’s like to see Lisa Vanderpump back on RHOBH.
“She was the best," Chastain said.
Beauvais has another famous fan in Julia Roberts, who she met in Washington, D.C. in September 2022.
"I just met Julia Roberts, she said 'Oh my God, I need to find you a boyfriend. I'm invested in this,' and I said, 'Oh my God, I can just die now. I don't even need the boyfriend,'" Beauvais told Entertainment Tonight. "She said, 'I need a moment' when she saw me, and I was like 'You? I need a moment!' "
Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery and Elizabeth McGovern also love RHOBH.
"We're obsessed," McGovern, 62, told PEOPLE.
Dockery, 42, said McGovern and their costar Laura Carmichael got her into the show.
"I wasn't into this show before Elizabeth and Laura were like, 'You need to get into this show,' " Dockery explained. "So, I went straight in at season 1 during filming. If anyone wants to know what I was doing while we were doing the Downton Abbey 2 film, I was watching The Housewives of Beverly Hills."
Even Meryl Streep follows the goings on in Beverly Hills. While discussing her Netflix movie Don’t Look Up in January 2022, Streep, 74, named RHOBH as one of her forms of escapism.
"It's life. It's right now. It's happening right now. And what do I do? I go in and watch [Real] Housewives of Beverly Hills. I do that," she admitted. "So, we do this. I know. I'm reading about the climate, and it does feel overwhelming."
