Brad Paisley Invites Post Malone to Make His Grand Ole Opry Debut in August: 'Come Play It with Me'

"It's gonna be the first of many appearances," the country music star told the "Pour Me a Drink" singer in his personal video invitation

Post Malone's foray into country music just got bigger.

On Wednesday, July 31, the "Circles" singer, 29, received a personal invitation to perform at the Grand Ole Opry next month from none other than country music star Brad Paisley. The singer, 51, extended the invite on social media through the Opry's official accounts in a video, in which he posed a "special question" to Malone.

"Hey, Post. Brad, here. So, what I’m about to ask is going to mean a lot to you, I think, knowing you and knowing the respect you have for country music and this journey that you’re embarking on now as a hillbilly singer — which is gonna be massive and remarkable and amazing for both country music and you,” Paisley started.

"Would you like to play the Opry?" he asked Malone. "Come play it with me in August. Total invite, and it’s gonna be the first of many appearances, I have a feeling, for you."

The "Whiskey Lullaby" singer concluded the invitation by telling Malone to "come experience what it’s like to play the show that started it all." He added, "You and I can jam together, and a lot of your friends will be there.”

Malone's Grand Ole Opry debut is set for Aug. 14 at the famous Opry House in Nashville. The event will feature performances from Opry members like Paisley, newly inducted Lainey Wilson, and Vince Gill, plus other country acts like The War and Treaty, John Michael Montgomery and more. Tickets are available now.

Malone's pivot toward the country music lane has been getting the rollout treatment ever since the Grammy-nominated artist announced his forthcoming debut country album, F-1 Trillion, in June. The LP features his three most recent singles: "Guy for That" with Luke Combs, "Pour Me a Drink" with Blake Shelton, "I Had Some Help," the chart-topping collaboration featuring Morgan Wallen.

At this time, it's unclear what other country stars will be featured on the album. However, during a December 2023 appearance on The Tonight Show, Paisley told host Jimmy Fallon that he had been in the studio with Malone.

“I worked with him a couple of nights,” the musician shared on the late-night talk show. "He’s amazing. I love him. He’s the greatest guy, and he loves country music. We’ll see if we do something. You never know."

Earlier Wednesday, Malone revealed the tracklist for F-1 Trillion  — showing that he and Paisley do in fact have a song together, called "Goes Without Saying."

Malone first teased the idea of making a country album during a 2022 appearance on The Howard Stern Show, and he'll soon fulfill that promise when his LP drops on Aug. 16.

Afterward, he'll hit the road for his F-1 Trillion Tour, which kicks off in Salt Lake City on Sept. 8 and concludes in Nashville on Oct. 19. He's also set to headline the 2024 Global Citizen Festival in New York City on Sept. 28 along with big names like Doja Cat, Jelly Roll and Rauw Alejandro.
