Interesting Facts About Borzois
Borzoi dogs aren't ones we often see, but we notice them when we do, thanks to their unique look. According to the American Kennel Club, Borzoi dogs are known for being loyal, affectionate, and really dignified," which are beautiful qualities to have in a doggo.
While those qualities are accurate, the club does note that they're not the best with children, landing in the middle, and the same for both how well they handle other dogs and affection with family in general. These dogs aren't easy to train too much either, and are pretty high energy and need to have opportunities for mental stimulation.
These dogs are gorgeous, fast, and really easy to get along with, though. "Among the most impressively beautiful of all dogs, the aristocratic Borzoi is cherished for his calm, agreeable temperament. In full stride, he is a princely package of strength, grace, and glamour flying by at 35 to 40 miles per hour," the American Kennel Club shares.
But, this dog breed is very similar to cats. "In their quiet, catlike way they can be stubborn, and training is best accomplished with patience, consistency, and good humor," the club warns. Affectionate family dogs, Borzoi are nonetheless a bit too dignified to wholeheartedly enjoy a lot of roughhousing."
Also, they're really great dramatic actors when pizza is involved.
