Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne Star in Heartwarming “Ezra” Trailer from Director Tony Goldwyn
Bobby Cannavale, Rose Byrne, Robert De Niro, Whoopi Goldberg, Rainn Wilson, Vera Farmiga and more star in 'Ezra'
Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne share the screen in the new drama Ezra.
The first trailer stars Cannavale and Byrne as divorcées trying to amicably co-parent their 11-year-old son Ezra (William A. Fitzgerald), who has autism.
Cannavale plays standup comedian Max Bernal, who lives with his dad (Robert De Niro) and struggles to make sense of his own life while also trying to help his son.
"When forced to confront difficult decisions about their son’s future, Max and Ezra embark on a cross-country road trip that has a transcendent impact on both their lives," reads a synopsis.
The film is described in a press release as an "endearing and often funny exploration of a family determined to find their way through life’s complexities with humor, compassion and heart."
Ezra is directed by Scandal star Tony Goldwyn, and it also stars Whoopi Goldberg, Vera Farmiga and Rainn Wilson.

Cannavale, 53, and Byrne, 44, who've been together since 2012 and share two sons, have previously been candid about the their relationship off-screen.
Byrne told PEOPLE last year that though the couple have never officially gotten married, it’s still something they plan on doing. "Definitely something that we will do,” said the actress. “We'll get around to it.”

“I love working with him,” she said at the time, speaking of the many times the couple have starred in TV and movies together. “I was a fan of his work before we were friends, before we were together. And so it felt very seamless to do. I hope we get to work together again.”
Ezra is in theaters May 31.
