Black Girl Travel: I Want To Know Your Safest And Cheapest International Travel Destinations

From Jalisco, Mexico, to Bridgetown, Barbados, Black women are catching flights to some of the most beautiful places in the world, and these days, many are doing it alone. And it’s not just because they’re over the group chat travel coordination.

Racial tensions have soared over the past eight years, and the fight for women’s rights is constantly in the ring with no ref in sight. With perpetually present factors like those in mind, Black women are catching flights to far away places, and leaving their feelings of anguish behind (even if it’s just for a week or two).

How does catching a flight release feelings of patriotic distress, do you ask? Because catching flights to countries where your gender and skin color are not constantly questioned or frowned upon, but rather celebrated and embraced, is a calming and breathtaking experience. It’s the next level for those looking to participate in cultural experiences that can’t be duplicated in America, like Barbados Crop Over or Trinidad Carnival.

There are travel groups specially curated for Black women, like Black Girls Travel Too and Luxe Tribes. However, not all Black women are looking for an affordable solo trip or getaway with a group; some are looking for a safe and financially fit place to call home.
