Bindi Irwin has hit us right in the feels with a heartbreaking tribute to late dad Steve Irwin, who died on this day 13 years ago.

The conservationist is in the midst of a whirlwind year that has seen her announce her engagement to long-time boyfriend Chandler Powell, but took time out to reflect on her dad’s passing in a beautiful post to Instagram.

The image, which is from A A Milne’s famously poignant Winnie the Pooh, includes a touching quote.

“If there ever comes a day when we can’t be together, keep me in your heart I’ll stay there forever,” the image reads.

“Forever,’ she spells out in single spacing.

Steve famously passed away after a stingray impaled him while he was filming in Queensland's Batt Reef on September 4, 2006.

The post comes on the back of a touching nod to her dad Bindi shared on Father’s Day on Sunday.

The video tribute showed Bindi as a tiny bub with her famous dad, horsing around in the Australian bush.

The latest post has attracted plenty of heartfelt messages.

“I bet my life, your father is so proud of you wherever he is,” one fan wrote.

“May your father forever rest in peace. He was one of the greatest men to walk the earth,” another shared.

Bindi often speaks candidly of the impact the loss has had on her, brother Robert, and mum Terri revealed it would be Robert walking her down the aisle on her big day.

“Dad, you would be so incredibly proud of Robert. He has been such an amazing support during this beautiful new life chapter,” she wrote in an Instagram caption announcing the decision.

“I know you’d be beaming with pride when the time comes that [Rob] walks me down the aisle.”

“I wish you could be here for these moments, but I know that your spirit lives on in us.”
