Big W goes retro with $70 dupe of $3000 vintage designer lamp
Adding designer accessories can really elevate your home décor, but it's hardly feasible to decorate your entire home exclusively with originals.
Thankfully, Aussie retailer Big W is helping hard-working families get the look they want without breaking the bank.
The new Mirabella Logan brass table lamp is part of a new spring/summer homewares collection at Big W and it's a much cheaper alternative to a classic lamp from the 1970s.
The original Atollo lamp was designed by Italian architect Vico Magistretti and won the famous Compasso D'Oro design award in 1979, but will set you back over $3,000.

While there are Aussie retailers who offer great copies for around $250, sometimes even a reasonably priced copy can be out of your budget.
So Big W has picked up on the retro trend and added the metal mushroom lamp to their latest homewares range, for just $70.
"Big W not only monitors trends native to Australia and internationally throughout the year, but we're also continuously listening to our customer's needs and wants, taking this feedback and intel into our design process each season," Gary Chen, senior designer at Big W told Yahoo Lifestyle.
"Because of this, we know Aussie families are looking for not only quality everyday basics, but also those affordable key trend items like the Mirabella Logan Table Lamp to elevate their homes for the new season."
The Museum of Modern Art in New York has even given the retro décor trend their tick of approval.
"Design from the 1960s and '70s is back," Chay Costello, associate director of merchandising at MoMA, told the Wall Street Journal.
"Then, like now, people were trying to connect with nature. But another reason we ended up with this preponderance of mushroom lamps is that there's an affinity between the form of a mushroom and the function of lamps."
