Beyoncé Poses on a Motorcycle in Plunging Bodysuit to Channel 1970s Funk Legend Betty Davis for Halloween
Fans are convinced this is a hint for her next musical era
Beyoncé has done it again.
After joining her family to emulate Disney's The Proud Family in 2022, Beyoncé laid low for Halloween in 2023, following her impressive worldwide Renaissance tour. But this year she's back in action.
The "Texas Hold 'Em" singer shared a carousel of photos on Instagram on Nov. 1 dressed as Betty Davis, the late funk singer and former wife of Miles Davis. In her photos, Beyoncé was the spitting image of the trailblazing artist, wearing a black and white plunging bodysuit straight out of the '70s, silver jewelry, a bold red lip, and a teased-out Afro. It was all to recreate Davis' This Is It album cover, where the artist wore the exact same look.
Plenty of fans in the comments are convinced that this costume is a clue for Beyoncé's next era, knowing that she's been one to tease what's to come with how she dresses. There's a fair few comments asking if Renaissance: Act III will be funk or rock to the tune of Betty Davis.

For the family's 2022 costume, Beyoncé pulled double-duty, posing as both family matriarch Sugar Mama and Trudy, wife to Oscar Proud, who was portrayed by husband JAY-Z. In the photo, which she shared to Instagram, the rapper bent down toward their daughter Rumi — who along with twin brother Sir dressed as Proud twins BeBe and CeCe.
Blue Ivy wore her hair in pigtails and looked off to the side as she posed as Penny Proud.
"Family every single day and night," Beyoncé captioned the photo, quoting the track from the show's theme song, on which she (as part of Destiny's Child) and sister Solange Knowles sang.

Beyoncé's had a big year, including releasing her latest album Cowboy Carter in March — her first foray into country music. She started teasing her country era at the Grammys before officially announcing the album during the Super Bowl in February. She then surprise-dropped two brand-new tracks that day: "Texas Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages."
Since then, the Texas-born Grammy winner has been leaning into the country-chic lifestyle, wearing Western-inspired clothes and embracing all things country.
But that's not all — she also launched her haircare line Cécred, as well as a whiskey called SirDavis. She's been a busy, busy Bey all year long.
