Best At-Home Device:

LYMA Laser ($NaN)

Low-level light and laser therapy using near-infrared light have multiple benefits to the skin, including increased blood flow, regulation of pigmentation, increased collagen synthesis, and reduced inflammation via a mechanism called photobiomodulation. Most home devices use LED light which is beneficial but cannot penetrate very deep. The LYMA laser, on the other hand, can deliver this wavelength of near-infrared light as a laser, therefore penetrating much more deeply and more powerfully. Dan Belkin, M.D., board-certified dermatologist.

Best At-Home Peel:

Noble Panacea Overnight Chronobiology Peel ($NaN)

This is one of the best at-home peels. It takes five alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), including glycolic, lactic, and mandelic acid, plus beta-hydroxy acid (BHA ) salicylic acid, and delivers them slowly to the skin during the early hours of the night. Then, it delivers centella asiatica, or "cica," a popular soothing ingredient, in the later hours of the night. You get an effective but totally gentle and non-irritating peel by morning. —D.B.

Best Dark Spot Serum:

La Roche Posay Mela B3 ($NaN)

In terms of treatments for hyperpigmentation, many just repeat the same ingredients, pairing them together in different permutations. But Melasyl is one of the newest, most innovative ingredients. What this does is, it gobbles up the precursors of melanin so that we can't make it to begin with. So pairing that with all the other ingredients that we use, like niacinamide, it works synergistically to really reduce hyperpigmentation. Michelle Henry, M.D., board-certified dermatologist

I just love this lip balm because it's super, super hydrating. It's made with squalene and shea butter. Squalene is part of the sebum that we naturally make, so it's a very natural way to hydrate the skin. And then shea butter is more occlusive. The combination really helps to not only soften the skin but occlude the skin in such a way that it holds in moisture. I have one in my pocket at all times. —M.H.
