The Best Costco Bakery Item ‘Ever Made’ Is Back for the Summer
We're already running to get s'more.
Sweet treats in the summer are a must-have, but turning on the oven to heat up your house isn’t always ideal. That’s why we look to the Costco bakery for those late-night snacks and potluck contributions that just make life easier.
Plus, it helps that the Costco bakery is top-tier for cookies, pies, and breads. However, if you feel like you haven’t heard from Costco since early spring, it might be because the big box store was prepping a huge summer drop. The headliner? A returning bakery item customers call the “best ever made.”
Costco’s S’mores Cookies are back for the second summer in a row.
Costco S'mores Cookies Return
Last year, Costco released these decadent s’mores cookies loaded with chocolate, marshmallows, and graham cracker flour after a recipe, made with the campfire essentials, went viral. The TikTok recipe, coined by Allrecipes contributor Nea Arentzen, wrapped cookie dough around an entire graham cracker topped with chocolate chips and marshmallows, so when the mixture hit the oven, it melted into the perfect gooey confection.
Costco’s version came to bakery shelves just in time for the summer cookout season and quickly became a fan-favorite dessert. Customers raved about their soft texture—but said they become even better when warmed in the microwave or air fryer to really mimic the campfire treat.
Now, the S’mores Cookies have been spotted at Costco once again. Several Reddit and Instagram users have confirmed that the chunky cookies are back in stores. You may have to wait a few days for your Costco to get its shipment in, but rest assured that you’ll be enjoying s’mores-flavored cookies very soon.
The cookies are sold as a 24-count for about $9.99 per tub. After their successful run last year, we wouldn’t be surprised if the s’mores cookies become harder to find—especially around bigger holiday weekends this summer. So, our advice is to stock up now because we wouldn’t want your potluck to be without s’more goodies.
