The Best Cava Ordering Combos, According to Reddit
I have never been to a CAVA restaurant, but there is one near me and since I like to know what's on the menu before going to a new place, I began looking around at what people like to order from CAVA—and Reddit came through! There are many forums dedicated to discussing favorite CAVA orders and now I want to try them all!
CAVA, for those who have never been, is a fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant chain that offers a fresh, customizable dining experience. Known for its flavorful, health-conscious menu, CAVA allows guests to build their meals with bases like salads, grain bowls or pita wraps, topped with proteins like grilled chicken, lamb meatballs or falafel.
What sets CAVA apart is its array of house-made dips and spreads, including hummus, tzatziki and spicy harissa. As you can see, there's a lot to consider before ordering, and that's why I wanted to see what people like to order before I make the trip to my local CAVA.
Apparently, I wasn't alone in feeling overwhelmed. On several Reddit forums, people admitted to not knowing what to order, so they copied orders from seasoned CAVA fans and I think that's brilliant!
Here are some that stood out to me.

Start With the Honey Harissa Chicken
A lot of people said to get the Harissa Chicken.
One person posted on Reddit that they order the super greens and basmati rice as a base, and they choose the honey harrissa chicken as the protein. They add crazy feta, tzatziki, red pepper hummus, corn, tomato and cucumber blend, regular feta, pita crisps, avocado and skhug dressing.
Just reading that list makes me a little bit overwhelmed, but folks in the comment thread weighed in with their support.
"Standing in line at CAVA and just ordered this thank you," someone commented.
"Thank you kind stranger. Just had my first cava experience and was overwhelmed and copied this exactly and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever eaten!" another person said.
"THANK YOU THIS WAS GASSSSS," someone else said.
I will have to give this one a try!
A few people pointed out that CAVA can be pricey, so one commenter said this order gives you the most for your money.
You will get a grain bowl or have it mixed with super greens, depending on your personal preference. To that, add saffron, Harissa chicken, crazy feta, red pepper hummus, grilled chicken, tomatoes and onions blend, tomatoes and cucumber blend, pita chips, crumbled feta, grilled corn, pickles, garlic dressing on top and a side pita.
That order sounds interesting, for sure!

Keep it Simple With Lamb Meatballs
On another Reddit forum, people had all kinds of CAVA orders, but several people suggested getting the spicy lamb meatball pita. One person said this is already "chef curated," so if you aren't sure what to order, or if you are in a hurry, it's an easy one to ask for. Another person said you can order these items on the side.

Don't Sleep on the Lentils
Lentils might not be what you typically think of at a fast food place, but the lentils at CAVA have some fans. The black lentils are seasoned with cumin, coriander and garlic and sometimes have a bit of lemon too.
The same commenter who suggested the lamb pita, also happens to be a CAVA employee and signs off on the lentils, too. "I work here though so I’ve been experimenting with what we got on deck and my big takeaway is that lentils and eggplant belong together lol," they said.

Consider the Crazy Feta
This menu item with the wacky name came up again and again in the Reddit threads. What is it? It's a whipped feta dip that's jazzed up with jalapeño, onions and olive oil. It's a great way to jazz up your favorite bowl combo or use it as a dip for pita chips or raw vegetables.

Check Out the Kids' Menu
If you're still worried about the cost, another person commented on a different forum that they get the kid's meal for lunch because it comes with a side of pita chips and a drink for under $9.
"It's literally perfect for lunch, I get the honey harissa chicken, feta cheese, lettuce garlic dressing, then with the pita chips you can get a sauce and I get tzatziki sauce," they said, adding that it is filling.
