Below Deck’s Captain Lee Rosbach is reportedly preparing to lead a new crew after leaving his longtime home on Bravo.

Rosbach, who is known fondly by fans as the “Stud of the Sea,” announced his departure from the nautical reality show Below Deck in late 2022. He is now slated to host a new true crime series called Deadly Waters, according to Deadline.

The show, which is expected to explore murders at sea, is reportedly in production as a project spearheaded by Renowned Films. The production company has headquarters in London and Los Angeles.

Information regarding the new show’s release date was not immediately available. It is expected to eventually debut on Oxygen, Deadline reported. Like Bravo, the TV network is owned by NBCUniversal Media Group.

Below Deck launched its first season in July 2013 with Rosbach as the crew’s captain. He continued in that role for the next several years and into Season 10, at which time he announced he was battling health problems and would need to step away from the show.

"The left side of my body, I don't feel anything,” Rosbach said while discussing his nerve issues in a December 2022 episode. He told fans of the show that the pain he was experiencing as a result of his health struggles was “getting worse, not better.”

Months later, Rosbach confirmed that he would not be appearing in Season 11 of Below Deck. He insisted it was not his intention to retire but that he had not been “invited back” onto the show.

"I guess I can see their point of view,” he said during an April 2023 interview with South Florida’s Sun Sentinel. “They really couldn't get a straight answer from anyone on how my health was."
