When it comes to her glam, Lisa Kudrow knows what she likes.

The actress, 61, is happy to stick to a look that she feels comfortable with, and it hasn't changed much over the years. She chalks that up to one thing: "laziness."

"Honestly," she tells PEOPLE exclusively of how she views her glam for events. "I just go with what feels comfortable. Kind of an amped-up version of my day-to-day hair and makeup look."

For her press days on Dec. 12 and Dec. 13 for her newest project, No Good Deed on Netflix (now streaming), Kudrow worked with makeup artist Brett Freedman for her appearances. The two have been working together for more than a decade, so Freedman knows exactly how to achieve Kudrow's chosen no-fuss style.

For Kudrow's look — which had to last her through the entirety of the day on Dec. 12, Freedman tells PEOPLE he and the actress opted to go the route of "classic Lisa."

"Lisa doesn’t like her look to be too fussy or over-styled," he says. "Hair-wise, hairspray is her Kryptonite. She isn’t a fan of hair she can’t run her fingers through. As for makeup Lisa prefers to keep it simple and natural. No contouring, over-bronzing or obvious shimmer. I like to say Lisa’s makeup is 'Her, just a little more vivid.'"

For a long day of press, Freedman wants to make sure that Kudrow's skin is prepped and ready to handle the "whirlwind of multiple stops." He started her off with Farmhouse Fresh’s Dew Ritual Triple Lipid Facial Oil, which he says is his "fave primer" for skin that tends to be on the dry side — also great to use in the winter months. That's topped off with a moisturizer and an eye cream to add even more hydration and brightness to the skin.

For a pop of color on her cheeks, Freedman used Makeup by Mario’s Soft Pop Powder Blush in Creamy Peach. "I love peach tones on Lisa — it just feels less sweet than pink," he says, adding that he does just a bit of highlighting with Farmhouse Fresh's Golden Moon Dip, which is actually a face cream. For Kudrow, he uses it on the apples of her cheeks after the blush for a "dewy glow.

One thing Kudrow's going to avoid is a lash curler, Freedman, says, so he uses a mascara that does all the work instead. He enhances her eyes with Brett Brow Duo-Shade pencil in Medium Blonde.

Her look is finished with Farmhouse Fresh's Vitamin Glaze Oil Infused Lip Gloss in Delicate Rose. "Lisa isn’t a fan of heavy glosses," he says. "This is perfect because it's lightweight and essentially a lip hydrator."

Kudrow tells PEOPLE that she's happy to "defer" to Freedman on these long days, especially since they've worked together for so long and because he knows her and her look so well. When it comes down to it, though, she says she's going to go with her "gut feeling" on what she chooses to wear and how she styles herself — including with her hair and makeup.

"There are so many trends and it’s nice to be open to them, but in the end I want to feel like ‘me’ —deciding that’s a good thing," she says.

And she knows she's in good hands when she's with the pro. Freedman says their glam sessions run the gamut: "Lisa has the best, driest sense of humor and loves to laugh so glam sessions always end up being very fun. She’s super well-read so there’s always a topic de jour she has great insights on. Lisa has a great overview of life. She’s a thinker that sees all sides, so I love her take on things."

But she's also happy to find her zen when she's sitting in the chair, because it's a great moment to relax, especially when she's with a pro she's so comfortable with.

"I love having my hair blown out and playing games on my phone," she admits. "It’s just so great to really tune out."
