Hilary Duff Debuts Bright Blue Hair

Hilary Duff has made the unusual switch from blonde to blue.

The Lizzy McGuire actor's faithful Instagram followers - all 3 million of them - were the first to see her new hair colour when the star shared a selfie straight from the salon with the caption, "@Ambahhh turned me into a mermaid last night".

@Ambahhh is hairstylist Amber Maynard, whose celebrity clients reportedly include Demi Lovato and Tommy Lee.

Duff's new 'do follows news that the 27-year-old filed for divorce last month from her husband of five years, Mike Comrie. While the pair have been separated for over a year, they have been spotted together since their split with their son, two-year-old Luca.

Duff is the latest celeb to capture the world's attention with a radically overhauled look in recent weeks. Most notably, the runway at Paris Fashion Week played second fiddle to Jared Leto and Kim Kardashian, who simultaneously debuted platinum blond hair at the Balmain show.
