Here at Allrecipes, we’re big lovers of any dish involving pasta. Whether it’s an easy pasta bake or homemade pasta from scratch, we’re all for oodles of noodles.

And don’t even get us started on pasta shapes. Oh, how we love to mix it up and go from dousing our fettuccini in butter to smothering our rigatoni in a creamy basil sauce. So, when Barilla announces a special pasta shape is hitting shelves, you’d better believe we’re ready to snag it—especially since it’s only around for a limited time.

Barilla’s Heart-Shaped Pasta Is Coming Back

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Barilla is bringing back its beloved heart-shaped pasta, Barilla Love. Fans can’t get enough of the adorable shape, saying it’s “delicious” and “a lot of fun to eat.”

“I bought one box last year, and it was so good!” shared one fan on Instagram. “The heart shape makes it taste 10x better somehow.”

Barilla Love isn’t just cute—it’s practical, too. The medium-sized hearts are slightly thicker than traditional pasta shapes, giving them a satisfying bite. Their unique shape features little grooves and curves that cling to sauces, whether it’s a hearty Bolognese or a creamy lemon sauce. Plus, the pasta is made with high-quality durum wheat, ensuring it cooks up al dente every time.

Barilla first launched the heart-shaped pasta in 2023 as part of a special Barilla Love Pasta Kit. The kit included a box of Barilla Love pasta, Valentine’s Day cards, fun Barilla swag, and recipe inspiration. However, it was only available through an online sweepstakes.

Due to its popularity, Barilla brought the pasta back in 2024, making it available in select grocery stores nationwide. This year, it’s returning yet again to grocery retailers and Amazon beginning Jan. 13. If you’re hoping to snag a box, check your local grocery store’s pasta aisle or seasonal display ASAP because it's guaranteed to sell out quickly.

If you can’t find the Barilla Love pasta nearby, you can always head to Trader Joe’s for its Italian Artisan Heart-Shaped Pasta or Costco for its Italian Four Cheese Heart-Shaped Ravioli.

And if pasta isn’t enough to satisfy your heart-shaped cravings, keep an eye out for other Valentine’s Day favorites, like Chick-fil-A’s heart-shaped nugget trays and Pizza Hut’s heart-shaped pizzas in the next few weeks.
