The Bachelor's Matty J and Laura Byrne are expecting their first child together
The Bachelor stars Matthew Johnson and Laura Byrne are expecting their first child together.
The delighted pair confirmed the news in a new interview before taking to social media to share the update with fans.
“I couldn’t think of a better way to end the year,” Matty, 31, told The Daily Telegraph.
“I’m so bad at keeping secrets so I’m EXTREMELY excited to let everyone know, we are having a little baby!
“@ladyandacat I love you more than words can describe and I can’t wait to start our family together. WE ARE GOING TO BE PARENTS!!” Matty then gushed in an Instagram post.
And Laura, 32, was equally as thrilled to share their good news as she revealed when their little one is due.

“WE ARE HAVING A BABY !!!!Old mate @matthewdavidjohnson and I are beyond excited to finally be able to share that I’m cooking an orange sized baby Johnson-Byrne.
“Happy doesn’t even come close ❤️ (Have a look at the last picture – it’s little hand is waving at everyone 😂😍 my heart) #15weeks #comingjune,” she captioned their blissful snaps.
The pair happy news comes after they quietly suffered a devastating miscarriage earlier this year.

“We’d heard so many stories about how it had been so difficult for some people, and obviously we thought it was going to be difficult for me because of what had already happened,” Laura explained to The Daily Telegraph.
She added: “When you’ve had a miscarriage, you worry if there is something wrong with you.”
The baby news won’t be a shock to fans seeing as the pair have made no secret about the fact they are keen to start their family together.
Baby names
Meanwhile, Matty J is already thinking about giving their baby a unique name.
“I’m a fan of unique names – I want to call my child something crazy like Moon, or Phoenix, or River,” he admitted on Nova’s Summer Breakfast with Matt, Sarah & Matty J.
Matt De Groot wasn’t sure whether he was serious or not but Sarah McGilvray confirmed they had this chat off air and that Matty J “started rattling off names to her” .. like the name Bear!
Matt asked if Laura is more of a conventional traditionalist or if she’s into alternate naming and Matty admitted “he hasn’t consulted her” yet.
