Aussie star's chaotic fight over Brazilian wax: 'The audacity of her'

Aussie influencer Skye Wheatley has retold a dramatic story about an argument she got into with a beautician at a local salon in the Gold Coast, detailing how her routine Brazilian wax erupted in a war of words between her and the woman who was waxing her private parts.

Now, we all know, there's nothing more soul-baring than laying back and thinking of England while getting hair removed from your nether regions. Between fighting the impulse to ask "Sooo, how was your day?" to counting down the very, very slow seconds of silence in your head as hair gets removed from your body with suitable amounts of force, it's just one of the many joys of being a woman.

Skye, who won the 2024 series of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!, took to her Instagram Stories to relive her waxing horror, explaining she went to a different salon to the one she's used to, due to being time-poor. Let's just say, she wasn't super happy with her customer experience.

Skye, who used to be a beauty therapist herself, slammed the woman who was waxing her after Skye tried to give her advice on her waxing technique to get the job done a little faster, leading to the woman 'death-staring' her and giving a very pointed reply.

Skye's waxing horror: 'Literally attacking me with your tweezers'

"It's going to be dramatic when I say it, but I can't describe the way this b***h has made me feel," Skye said, after detailing she was left confused when the beautician started using "tiny" wax strips to remove the hair, before using tweezers.

"She starts getting the tweezers, she's tweezing away, she's tweezing my f***ing skin," Skye said. "I actually said 'ow' at one point because you are literally attacking me with your tweezers."

Skye's advice backfires: 'She looked like she was going to eat me'

Skye then said she tried to give the beauty therapist some tips on how she prefers to be waxed, which then led to the beautician having a go at her.

"I said don't be scared to put the wax on my actual labia because it doesn't hurt. She turns around, she death-stares me, and she goes 'I'm the professional here, you do not tell me how to do my job...I'll do it how I want to do it'."

Skye said she was left completely baffled by the way the woman had spoken to her, especially given that when you're half-naked on a table you're in quite a vulnerable position. "I'm shook over the audacity of her," she said. "I'm not sensitive, but that would've made someone else cry."

"She looked like she was going to eat me, the eyes looked possessed," Skye continued. She later moved on with her Stories saying she decided to get over it and put the incident behind her.
