Aussie model's incredible skin transformation after acne battle

Model Georgia Gibbs has gone viral after sharing the secrets of her skin transformation journey in a new video series.

The Australian beauty found herself suffering from adult acne after being subscribed strong medication – which she later discovered she didn’t actually need.

Five months using the medication caused her to develop severe rosacea, and the model has opened up to fans about the effect that had on her mental health – as well as how she managed to improve her skin naturally.

“My story, healing my skin and gut health naturally, video now live on my YouTube #BeKind,” she explained in a caption charting her skin journey.

“I’m nervous sharing this with you, a couple months ago I refused to face time my mum, wouldn’t leave the house worried about another person being like “oh what’s happened to your face” but I know there’s so many of you scrolling your perfect Instagram feeds, well MODELS AREN’T PERFECT, just your filtered photoshopped Instagram is,” she wrote.

“This experience truly taught me to practice what I preach “more than my appearance” when you have acne it’s so hard to see past but I’m so grateful for this experience because I was forced to value myself for so much more than my skin & for that I’m forever grateful,” she added. “Making my red freckles cute. #UNDEFINEDBYACNE #GutHealth #MentalHealth.”

The Sports Illustrated model also shared her full story in a video posted to YouTube, detailing the many different ways she tried to undo the effects the medication had on her gut health.

“This video has been a long time coming because this has been a long journey…Auto immune disease which I’ll cover in another video, ACNE & ANXIETY, healing through mental health, nutrition and traditional medicine,” the 23-year-old explained.

“THIS IS NOT A SOB STORY, this video is for anyone struggling with their skin and their health and wondering why, this is my story with aim to help others realise you aren’t alone and your skin doesn’t define you,” she continued. “Models have ACNE, we aren’t immune to bad days & bad months like you see on IG.”

She revealed that she wanted to show “how mental health manifests into physical health”.

While the second video in her series explained how she turned to traditional and Chinese medicine to combat the Candida Overgrowth in her intestines which led to inflammatory diseases.

Stressing that any fans should seek professional advice before following in her footsteps she explained how items like Apple Cider Vinegar, Chinese herbs and a number of different pills and tablets have played a part in aiding her recovery.

“Absolutely LOVING this series and appreciate how open and raw you are with it all so so much, I’m currently struggling so hard with my skin and am dedicating my videos to clearing my skin for the rest of this year,” one fan commented.

“I honestly cannot wait to finally have skin that I feel confident and glowing in, and to be able to film similar videos to these of everything I did – as I am so so bloody passionate about it!”
